Stretch Marks Treatment

Stretch marks also known as striae are more common than most people realise. Stretch marks are a form of scarring on the skin caused by tearing of the dermal layer due to rapid changes in body weight. Rapid stretching of the skin normally associated with puberty, pregnancy or muscle building causes the dermal layer to stretch and eventually tear exposing the pinkl layer forming stretch marks. Stretch marks often appear on the abdomen, during pregnancy, on breasts, thighs, buttocks or just below the armpits.
