When my daughter Rosie was about to leave for university in the next state, my wife started to plan things for her because she was afraid that Rosie cannot make it alone. Her friends assured her of ways on how to keep your daughter safe at college, but she was still anxious.

The goon was chasing us so we hid ourselves by crouching on the ground. He had tried to steal our bags earlier while we were in the alley and we ran away from him.

It is always a busy day in my sister’s house. It is very seldom that there is no stranger in her house because she is a social worker. Due to this, there have been missing things, and things that were just taken away.

Being a massage therapist for a famous day spa is a demanding job. I have to arrive before it opens at 9 am and leave only after all customers are gone at 12 midnight. I do not work for 8 hours and get off at 6, like office employees do.

My daughter is a college freshman and she was overwhelmed by her new surroundings. She reported that she often felt scared to roam about and there are many crimes committed in her campus. She was worried that she may become a victim of these crimes.

I was one of the field workers doing a census on our city. Three times in the past, our field workers were either mauled, or the female ones, molested. After the third untoward incident, management recalled all field workers for a meeting on the safety of this group. I brought up the idea of providing a defense spray to each one of us.

In the neighborhood park, jogging was a safe form of exercise before but no longer. There was construction going on along the runner’s lane. We have heard of women runners being harassed by construction workers.

Living in a place where there is a university is an advantage for me. I do not mind having to walk to and from it because I can use the exercise. I dislike commuting on a daily basis and the cost that goes with it.
