Almost one-third of all Americans suffer from constipation and other bowel related problems. An average person needs to have at least two bowel movements a day. Likewise, the bowel transit time in a number of us is several times to that of a healthy person. These factors often contribute to troubles like gas formation, constipation, abdominal pain etc. In addition, incorrect movements of the bowels also result in waste accumulation inside the colon, which, in turn, can result in even life-threatening diseases like colon cancer and heart problems.
