3 Day Diet Programs – Lose 5 Pounds In Just Three Days

Three day weight loss programs are diets that promise that you’ll lose a small amount of extra weight – usually around 5 pounds – in only 3 days.

Some of these kinds of diet programs also promise detoxification, lowered cholesterol, and increased energy. These diets are not scientifically verified, but with the short time frame of the plans, shouldn’t result in any damage. You can in fact lose some weight with three day weight loss programs.

Don’t expect to have long term weight loss with the different three day weight loss plans. These are very limited calorie programs and the weight you eliminate is going to be mainly water. If you eat the grapefruit in the natural state and dig in to the rind, you’ll get 6 grams of dietary fiber. It is recommended that folks get 25 grams of fiber a day and dieters may choose to increase that to thirty or 35 grams. Eating this much grapefruit might help you on your way. It should be mentioned though that grapefruit juice has no fiber.

You should also know that grapefruit has no specific fat burning or metabolism enhancing qualities. It’s simply a fruit which is healthy for you just like apples and oranges.

The three day eating plans work in part, because they’re extremely low calorie programs. Breakfast may include an egg, a slice of dry toast, and a banana – a total of only two hundred calories. Lunch might be a cup of cottage cheese and five crackers – once again less than 200 calories. Supper seems a little more substantial with three ounces of lean turkey, 2 cups of veggies, a banana, and 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream, but you are still eating fewer than 350 calories. Your three servings of grapefruit add an additional 150 calories. That’s still only 900 calories for the day!

Obviously you are going to shed weight on nine hundred calories, even if you just sit and watch tv all day long! This is not maintainable over time, but for a fast way for shedding some weight, it may work.

A life-style choice it’s not, but 3 day eating plans can get you into your “skinny jeans” before a big date, let you look like your senior high school prom photo for your ten year reunion, or fit into your dream bridal dress. Anything further is just too much to expect from 3 day weight loss plans.
