There seems to be distinct stages of fitness motivation that women go through.
You may have times when you get bored with your full body workout routine even if you’ve been dedicated to your routine for a long time. Or to look at it another way, familiarity breeds contempt, which can be a challenge to your motivation. The longer you keep up with your program, the more knowledge you will accumulate, and you will be able to more easily handle the ups and downs of staying interested and dedicated. The following strategies can help you keep your motivation up.
Anywhere you look, you’ll find that a minority of people rise to the top and seem to achieve success at whatever they attempt. You may also have noticed that such high achievers have certain types of personalities and personal qualities. You’ll find that such people are almost impossible to distract from their goals and commitments. They don’t let anything deter them, they proceed in a forward direction no matter what. Things that cause others to stop in their tacks don’t deter them at all. Even when nothing they do produces results, they keep trying until they get it right. You can cultivate this kind of outlook too. You have to tell yourself to keep going enough times until it is second nature.
No matter how motivated you may be, sometimes you just feel like you’ve hit a brick wall or can’t take another step. You can do everything you can to prevent such things, but sometimes they will happen anyway. At times, we find ourselves working diligently towards our goals and then we realize we’re on the wrong path or making a fundamental mistake. If this kind of experience is happening to you, your best bet may be to stop working out for a while. Give yourself some perspective and go over what’s been happening and why. A lot of times just taking a break for a week, perhaps, can work wonders.
The issue of fitness motivation for women is a serious one that we all have to deal with at some point in our journey. Setting goals and following through on them is never easy. You can be sure that you’re not the only one who has to work at this, so don’t judge yourself too harshly. You only have to be persistent and find a way to motivate yourself.
