Goals lead us to a fruitful life. Without them, we are like just plain logs in the forest standing uselessly. With goals, we become trees that bear fruits. We become meaningful for others and in ourselves.
These goals have to be clearly stated and detailed for us for follow. Otherwise, goals that are vague lead us nowhere.
One way to check whether you know what you want is to tell a perfect stranger about your goals. Do they understand what you want? Are your goals clear enough?
Set schedules in achieving your goal. Call them milestones if you have to. You can do these things only if your plan in achieving the goals includes some quantifiable aspects. With the quantifiable parts of the goal, you would be able to see how you closer you are or how far you are still in achieving the goal.
Learn to set goals that are realistic and attainable, but challenging. You would end up discouraged when you set ambitious goal that is unreasonably high. On the other end, if the goals are too easy to achieve, it robs you of the challenge that you would have gone through in achieving a real goal. This challenge is required to build the self-confidence and self-fulfilment that our soul needs.
The steps sound like a business development plan, but this time it is applied to your life. Start by writing down important things you would like to attain in your life.
Once you have written these things, set out a plan to achieve the goals and commit to the plan. Remember to set milestones on your schedules. Get other people involve to witness your journey and success in achieving your plan. These people will be there to see that you accomplish your plan in coaching and supporting you even when you feel discouraged.
Life is so much better when you are able to share things you care about with someone. The great thing about friends is that they will help you achieve your goals by making sure you stay on the path. And when you reach the finish, it’s so great to have someone cheering you on.
