The One Catch To P90X

The in-home workout routine called P90X was designed by Tony Horton to bring a 90 day intense home workout that would not only deliver results but win over hearts of all its users. P90X has been regarded by many as the best-selling DVD workout program of all time. The program has been an incredible success story due to the record infomercial sales and has been regarded by many as the greatest as seen on TV product of all time.

A simple search of P90X online will bring to you an untold number of personal reviews, tens of thousands of YouTube videos cataloging peoples changes, thousands of Facebook fans who love the program and also tens of thousands of blogs containing personal success stories from P90X fans. This program on the surface seems invincible and there are enough reviews and reports to warrant it, however underneath the surface P90X reveals a small flaw of this incredible program.

The producers and distributors of this workout routine backup of their program by guaranteeing success during the 90 day period anyone tries it. For some this success is immediate and they do see an incredibly defined body, while others enjoy not so much definition but weight loss, and yet still others success comes from the sheer satisfaction of knowing they accomplished and were challenged by this intense, extreme home workout program.

Yet with all the hype there does come one catch to the program. The workout program is based on the idea that any can use it and it will work for the masses, after all boasting over 4 million copies sold would indeed back up the idea that it is marketed to the masses. The reality of the matter is that P90X is exactly how it describes itself, it’s an Extreme Fitness Program. The emphasis being on Extreme.

The major snag that most wishful thinking people find when they order P90X and then begin the program is that it is simply undoable on their part, and far too difficult of a workout for the average overweight individual. It should be said that there have been many overweight people who have attempted the program and lost significant weight and enjoyed incredible results from P90X. But on the flip side most heavily overweight people will simply be unable to get through the first few DVDs and therefore severely limit their ability to move forward and finish the full 90 day program due to its intensity.

What P90X is, is an intense extreme workout program that does bring results this fact cannot be disputed. Where the problem arises for the average individual is that the sales pitch is something that they get caught up in. They typically will find themselves looking at the incredibly defined people on TV and instantly assume that in three months their bodies will look like that. What’s failed to be realized is that it is extremely difficult and that you must not only be incredibly motivated but ridiculously determined.

For most the first two weeks will tell the tale if they can continue with the program or not. The catch to P90X is not so much that the program is flawed or that it doesn’t work, but that for many they will need to start somewhere more realistic, an easier program, or just simply a routine of exercises that they themselves build of get help with from a trainer, before taking on an Extreme Program like P90X.
