3 Steps Towards Stress Anxiety Relief

Stress anxiety relief is something many of us are looking for and in an increasingly fast paced world, we find there is less and less time to be able to do those things we need to do. Sometimes it just feels as if there aren’t enough hours to get things done in a day. If this sounds like you and you’re wondering whether there are any steps you can take to claw back some control from the spiralling stress levels, then you might find communicating your feelings with an open mind and focusing on the positive can be the change you need to feel more calm and relaxed about life.

1) Smash open the bottle

Sometimes we take the unnecessary course of action of bottling everything up, trying to deal with everything, but finding that we’re struggling to do so. Sometimes we can hold on to the frustration and anger and irritation that seems to build up over time. You may think you are dealing with it efficiently but in fact many of us don’t. It’s good to be reminded that there are those around you that can provide a different perspective to your worries and concerns. Why not find out how they have dealt with their anxieties? You don’t have to take everything on board and feel that you must know the answer to every question that life asks of you.

2) Affirmative – positive affirmations do help

Positive affirmations go a long way towards helping your mind to focus on the goodness in your life and build your resources in ways that can really help. Using affirmations through a process of repetition such as “I am a relaxed and confident person”, can really help to reprogram your mind to believe in your ability to deal with stressful events. The trick to this is repetition…repeat…repeat…repeat.

3) Laughter – the great healer

Many people say laughter is the best medicine and I tend to agree. It’s something you can do anyplace, any time. Research has even shown that laughter can improve the immune system. As well as the added bonus of placing you into the right frame of mind, laughing can actually exercise the diaphragm and distract you away from pain. So why not go ahead and find a DVD of your favourite stand-up comedian, sit back, relax and…have a laugh.

Stress anxiety relief is naturally available. We just need to be reminded that life doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. Take a break from your worries once in a while and by applying the above techniques, you should begin to feel more in control of your anxiety. Write down a list of affirmations and stick them somewhere that will remind you first thing in the morning, like on the fridge and remember to repeat them to yourself throughout the day. And when you need the support from your friends and family, don’t be afraid to ask for their advice.
