1. I’m not going to have the crash diet mentality. You will notice your clothes fitting better from consistent exercise and a few pounds of weight loss.
3. Do not try too do it alone. Friends or coworkers might be a great place for you to turn. Another motivation for exercise is to set up a destination that you want to walk to. Keep track with a pedometer how many miles you walk and then chart it on a map in your journal. Dedicate a section of your log to the way that your lifestyle is affecting your mood. It can be helpful to have a way to release all of the emotions that can arise while you are trying to get healthy.
5. Give yourself an incentive to succeed. You can treat yourself to something that will not interfere with the lifestyle that you are trying to follow. Include things like nail polish, a new video, a night at the movies, a pedicure, a new item of clothing every 10 pounds. It is okay to enjoy what you have accomplished.
If I do the things that I have outlined I will succeed in the way that I want. My body will feel better. The scale will become my fried. My body will stay healthy and there will not be a need to think about doing this again.
