Staying healthy is made easier when you use the trial and error method by doing little mini experiments on yourself.
For example, my neck has been giving me great pain for the last four hours; it’s now 7:45 p.m. My neck pain is from an old injury – lots of car accidents – and doing computer work seems to bring it on quickly. I think it is an excellent time to try a mini-experiment.
Unfortunately the chiropractor and the massage therapist have already gone home for the day. If you have any type of pain – back or neck pain, and you are seeking relief, you probably understand how I feel! Days where you will do just about anything to get out of pain.
Complaining Does Not Help: Only a Pain Relief Solution Will Work
My pain and circumstances could be a lot worse. I could be just like some people with so much pain so much of the time that they have to smoke marijuana to stop the pain. That must be tough because then they have to buy enough of it to have around in their times of need, making them potential crime victims. With new recipes, it’s possible now to get a high enough dose from eating a laced lollipop or brownie or even cup of tea. This option isn’t for me although it certainly can work for others.
Some pain-relieving methods that worked in the past may work now. For example, hanging upside down always takes the stress off the muscles in my neck, the source of my pain. Only 2 minutes upside down is enough to go from excruciating pain to no pain at all. There’s just one little problem – getting the gravity boots over the chin up bar and then getting up from the hanging position without traumatizing the rest of the body. Agility in this area never seemed to come easy.
Increasing vitamin E to about 1200 IU per day also has helped. If taken all at once, in about two hours the pain is reduced significantly. Vitamin E has been very helpful with those who have muscle problems such as muscular dystrophy.
Tending to be dehydrated, I notice that drinking more water is pretty helpful. The dose that works for me is 4 cups or 32 ounces, which reduces the pain in my neck.
A whole body vibration machine called the K1 machine also has helped the neck pain. This is a type of exercise equipment that vibrates the body at a certain level of Hertz. In studies, the whole body vibration machine has been shown to increase endorphins that calm down the pain sensations and replace them with relaxed calmness. The amount of time investment is only 10 minutes. After the K1 machine shuts itself off, the pain is gone.
A Friend Helps Out During a Time of Need
A friend had sent me a neck pain relief method a few weeks prior. I had set it aside, waiting for a night of excruciating pain. It was a dietary supplement made of medicinal herbs from China that was used by cancer patients. Cancer patients can have pain after cancer treatments have stopped…years later. My friend mentioned that her husband’s disk herniation in his neck responded quite well to the new method she had sent me and he did not need surgery to correct the herniation, although it took awhile. If some herbs were good enough to help cancer patients, then it was good enough for me to experiment with. At 7:50 p.m., I decided to try a mini-experiment and turned on the tea kettle on the stove.
Boiling water is poured on top of the supplement powder in a coffee cup. Now, it’s a matter of waiting for the ‘tea’ to cool.
8 p.m. The tea is ready. Taste is always important. It’s not bad and not sweet. Rated neutral in taste, I think even a child could drink it without gagging. It’s time to drink the whole cup and see what happens to the excruciating neck pain.
8:03 p.m. Neck still hurts and the pain has not budged on the pain scale. Nothing different.
8:04 p.m. Pain is getting lighter. This is interesting.
8:06 p.m. My neck does not hurt anymore! This is very strange. I went from pain to no pain in minutes. Well, I better wait; it’s possible that the results are temporary.
8:25 p.m. Pain is still gone totally. I can move my neck in every direction. It’s as if I had no pain at all, ever. What’s in it?
The list of ingredients is long: Red Peony, White Peony, Red Sage, Astragalus, Stevia (for sweetening), Cyperus, Circuma rhizome, Lotus Node, Hawthorn fruit Cnidium, Notoginseng, Licorice Root and Codonopsis. All these ingredients are herbs, many of them are Chinese herbs. There is no sugar. No grains. No drugs or chemicals. No artificial Red # blank. No dairy products. No soy. No preservatives either. This is a totally natural product that many people would approve of.
And it worked for me.
Those cancer patients really had a secret there that they weren’t sharing with anyone else. They knew how to stop excruciating pain with a simple cup of herbal tea.
There must have been others that had experienced benefits; I wanted to know more. Some people had tooth pain, headaches, back pain; others had shingles or intractable pain. I mentioned that neck pain should definitely be on the list.
The neck pain relief lasted 25 hours, then came back but was only minor on the 1-10 pain scale. I visited my chiropractor for an adjustment. Then the neck pain relief lasted another four days.
There are probably many other methods of neck pain relief. It seems that all we have to do is try to find them and do our own little mini experiment.
Before you buy something for back or neck pain relief, try to get a sample of it first. Test how it works with a little mini experiment such as the one described here.
