Up until 8 months ago I seemed to spend most of my time at the gym either pounding laboriously on some monotonous treadmill or grinding out the miles on a stationery bike. Like many people out there I assumed that this was the path to a lean toned body and a flat toned stomach.
Well I’ve clocked up some miles through the years but I still wasn’t satisfied with the results. Which begs the question; ‘does all of this type of cardiovascular exercise really perform for the average individual?’
My doubts were further compounded when I started to read about a better way of exercising that focuses on interval training where you run quick or bike fast for a short period of time, then do it slowly and then quick again. Add to this, full body workouts combining exercises for example squats, lunges, push ups and pull ups, with weights of your option and you really start to burn the fat.
Traditionally we are conditioned to looking at physical exercise as cardiovascular perform and weight training and/or muscle building work being separate regimes. The reality is should you focus on an energetic full physique workout using weights you’re really combining cardiovascular perform and muscle tone into one session, thus saving both time and wear and tear on your joints.
And ladies please do not let the thought of weights put you off, you are able to use as much or as little as you require and don’t worry you won’t turn into some muscle bound specimen. Next time you’re at your health club have a great look round at all the people on the treadmills and bikes etc. Are they the exact same people doing the exact same thing week in week out, year in year out? Do they appear any various?
I mean let’s face it if someone is running or cycling or whatever, whilst listening to music or reading a book are they truly concentrating? Are they truly doing sufficient to make a difference? 8 months on I have lost 51 lbs and now have a lean toned physique along with a flat stomach.
I even finally managed to shift the stubborn excess fat from my belly and thighs so I am a happy woman. Why not change your exercise regime and try a various way for a whilst, I am sure it will perform for you too.
