The last time I decided to lose weight, I thought that weighing myself everyday would be a good idea. Although not everyone agrees with this, I felt that doing this would help to keep me on the right track by motivating me. I thought this was a fantastic idea for at least the first month because I was getting to see the numbers dropping on an almost daily basis.
The problems started however after around six weeks of trying to lose weight; this was when I watched the numbers stick for three weeks on the trot.
The longer it went on with no progress, the more upset and disheartened I started to feel. I had not changed my efforts and was still working just as hard to lose the weight; in fact, every day I would get off the scale, determined to see a difference the next morning.
No matter how hard I tried, I could not get my weight to change although I did notice my body beginning to change a bit. With dread, I would get on those scales every morning and when nothing had changed, I would think to myself is this really worth it should I just give up.
When I first started at the gym I was weighed by my trainer and then last week he told me that he thought I should get weighed again. He thought he should check out my problem of not being able to lose weight because he had heard me complaining about it. I was nearly jumping for joy when I realised that on this scale, I weighed less than on my own scale almost five kilos less.
I thought the equipment at the gym might be faulty but the trainer assured me that it was the most expensive on the market. The problem had actually been my own scale at home which I have now discovered is broken so there was no need for me to be getting so upset at all.
