Following fad diets is not the answer if you are planning to keep the weight off.

The one thing all fad diets have in common is, they are “diets”.

Bell-bottom pants are often like fad diets. These diets are wildly popular for a few years and then they are gone. After a period of time they return again and why is that, the weight gurus decide that a new group of people have not heard of this diet fad so let’s try it on them. If you really want to burn fat and lose weight steer clear of the fad diets.

In the first days of a fad diet several of you will lose some weight. When you lose weight at the onset of a fad diet, most likely you will also lose some muscle. If you lose muscle your metabolic rate will also be reduced and you will burn a lesser amount of extra fat and therefore lose less weight.

But the bigger problem with these diets is that most us who follow these outlandish diets gain the body fat back, and then some! Has this happened to you?

How can I keep the weight off in the long term, this is the key question.

One reason is the fad diets often endorse focusing too much on one type of food, like non-carbohydrate foods (meat and dairy only) or only carbohydrate foods (fruits and vegetables only). This kind of diet will lead to unhealthy eating habits.

You are greatly reducing the number of vitamins and minerals you eat when you just eat foods from one catagory. Poor health and health problems is the result of restricting yourself of the needed vitamins and minerals that your body requires.

It is said that variety is the spice of life, and to have variety in the nutritious foods that we eat is also needed for good health.

Fad diets are too restrictive to be realistically followed, especially for a lengthy period of time. They are not only unhealthy but these diets are also very difficult to stay on because they take away many of our favorite foods. If you need to lose weight over a lengthy period of time, then do not go on a inflexible restrictive diet.

Behavioral changes in your eating habits is what will keep you on a pattern of weight loss and weight stabilization for the remainder of your life.

You see, the very concept of a diet is doomed to fail. Why? Fad diets are rooted in short term thinking. Fad diets are not meant to be long term. This is temporarywhy force yourself to lose 10 pounds when you’re just going to gain it back and then even more when you go off of the diet?

A lot of people just don’t comprehend this, even though it may sound simple. In an attempt to fix their weight and health issues many people turn to diets. These fad diets are not the answer as they just create more problems. People who diet frequently won’t lose weight in the long term and more often than not they will gain more weight back than they lose.

To answer the question how can I keep the weight off, it is important for you to seek life long fat burning, health and fitness in a lean body, you should take some tips from my mom, and probably your mom too.

I got the most valuable nutritional information ever from my mom. I got very sound advise from my mom. My mom didn’t have any knowledge about fat burning, but she fed me really nutritious foods while I was a growing boy.

When you consume excess calories you will continue to gain weight, you will become fatter and you will be more likely to contract the diseases that are related to being overweight. Your body will have an acidic environment, which is an further risk of disease when you gain weight and fat. You just will not burn fat under these conditions.
