Teeth whitening may be done in the dentist’s office or at home. Patients are advised to wear the special mold trays for at least 2 hours per day but they can be worn during sleeping, for convenience.
Over the counter strips or mold trays also results to the usual side effects of teeth whitening. Though milder compared to other methods, pain, irritation, teeth sensitivity and discomfort are still felt by the patient.
All of these methods have the side effects of teeth whitening. Depending on the amount and concentration of the bleaching agent used, side effects range from mild to intense but all of them are usually temporary and will disappear in time.
