Stress eating is a habit in America many people just go to the snack bar to relax. This lead to poor health and makes your poor. Just try counting the dollars for a week. There are others ways of coping.
The important thing is that you think it though, a lot of times the reason is emotional. Some people do have auger lows that food does just the trick. How are you feeling emotionally? Is that why you are here? Do you need something in your stomach?
And ask yourself, “why am I here? IS it because my body need nutrition? Or is it that a need an emotional lift? The main point is for you to ask the questions you may not have answers but the asking will go a long ways in aid your awareness.
Second one you have identified a stress related eating habit. Then brainstorm for ways of dealing with stress other than the snack bar. Just make a list of thing to try some will work and some will not. Some will work in different situations. Experimenting is helpful.
When you are relaxed try making a list of those things that help you relax. Then keep it some where close at hand so you will have it in those stressful moments. As you list grows and your habit of checking it at stressful periods you will learn better habits.
Here is a list of solutions that may aid you in developing solutions of your own. Some people like to take a walk. This is good for body and soul. Try playing music or simply changing task. If these don’t cut it try a shower or a cup of tea.
Remember this is about forming new habits and discovering the things that work for you. Soon you will find that you have found better ways and your have broken your dependence on the snack bar.
