Japanese Hands On Healing Treatments

An ancient and natural hands on healing technique was rediscovered in the late nineteenth Century by a doctor in Japan. A treatment can be self-administered, given to other people and even performed on animals. Like many forms of complementary therapy, it is believed to induce a state of relaxation and recovery in the body on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions.

Unlike other branches of spiritual therapy, this therapy is founded in non-religious philosophy, involving the practitioner channelling the universal life force energy which naturally balances and heals the patient. During this process the practitioner is not sapped of energy, as in other forms of ‘spiritual healing’, but acts as a conduit for the energy.

Having been met with scepticism in the past, in recent years this therapy has become more widespread, with over a million practitioners across the world in 1995. It is even offered in many health spas alongside massage and dietary consultation.

This coincides with a great change in scientific understanding; in a matter of decades science has gone from a flat denial of the human energy field to a complete certainty that human bio-fields exist and are medically important. It was in 1963 that the heart’s electromagnetic field was first measured. Physics dictates that since living tissues conduct electricity, the currents created by the brain, nerves and muscles will produce electromagnetic fields around the body.

Practitioners must be attuned to the energetic frequencies of the system to be able to give a treatment. Just as a radio requires tuning in to the frequency of a radio station, the practitioner must be tuned in to the energetic frequencies. These frequencies are remembered for the rest of their life.

Although the theory of water having an energetic memory is still not fully accepted, a lot of interesting research has been done into the area in recent years, such as that published in ‘Messages in Water’. If it is the case, the large quantity of water contained in the human body may act as a receptive memory for such frequencies.

A full treatment lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. In hands on healing, the energy is offered to the patient, not projected onto them, allowing the patient to unconsciously take what is needed. It can therefore never cause harm, and always works to the highest good. This is a transformational energy that works on the past, present and future, and each treatment will lead to a greater sense of harmony and well-being.
