Laser hair removal Independence is a medical procedure that has been performed many times as an experimental procedure for almost 20 years before it was commercially available to the public in the early 90s. The efficiency of this procedure has been collectively accepted by the dermatological community and it is now commonly practiced in doctors clinics and homes by use of self treatment products.
This method works by a basic principle. This is the selective photothermolysis, this in essence is the focusing on a specific tissue by the lasers light with very little effect on the surrounding areas. This is localizing the light of the laser to target melanin which is the matter that gives color to the skin.
The light specifically focuses on the areas that cause the growth and it will cause no damage to the areas surrounding the area of treatment. Since light is usually absorbed by black matter, the light energy is absorbed by the melanin with a lot of intensity. This dark matter may be introduced or naturally occurring.
Currently the treatments available in the market are only those that target melanin in the removal. There are two types of melanin, they are Eumelanin and Pheomelanin. The former gives hair a black or brown color, the latter gives it a blonde or red color. Currently only the dark kind can be removed because of the nature of the treatment which works selectively.
The combination that will give the best results after the treatment is if the individual has dark hair and light skin. However some new treatments are being developed whereby even people who have dark skin color will also have it removed by use of this treatment.
This procedure has been in practice for a very long time, almost since 1997 and has also been approved by the FDA in the States. In many occasions, an individual will have hair grow back even after undergoing the procedure, this just shows that the treatment only decreases the hair that is likely to re grow and does not remove it totally.
This procedure has achieved a lot of popularity because of its efficiency and speed. The outcome is however dependent on the practitioners skill and experience. There are those people who will still need follow up procedures after the first, this is common where the area being treated was large. There are some people who after having the treatment, it still does not respond, this happens if the patient was not eligible for this treatment. Read more about: laser hair removal Independence
