Since 1940, McDonald has been a pioneer with the business strategy known as franchising. As a result of their cookie-cutter, privately owned and operated model, you can see more of McDonald’s restaurants than ever. This can benefit you, because as the company continues to grow, so must its workforce. As McDonald’s continues to expand, more job opportunities are always available and many people will be able to make a permanent career with a McDonalds in their neighborhood.
So where do you begin? Starting your career at McDonald’s may be easier than you think. With over 31,000 locations worldwide, there is a great probability that you can find one of their restaurants with a reasonable commuting distance. After you have determined a location of employment, there are a few ways to go about applying at that location.
Fill out an application online. McDonald’s has a very comprehensive website that keeps job openings updated and available for you to review. Look up the locations you are interested in and the website will display all available positions for you to apply for. You can submit your application right online but don’t be afraid to follow up your application with a phone call to make sure you are being considered for the desired position.
Fill out a physical application at the location you are interested in working. McDonald’s locations will advertise their need for help right in the store, and more often than not will have applications available out in the open for you to fill out at your leisure. You will want to take this application home and go over it carefully. Even though it may seem that entry level positions don’t hold a lot of clout, but there will be difficult competition for a limited offering of positions, so make sure you fill out your application carefully. Not all locations will always be hiring, but will usually accept applications. Be sure to request a job application in person and speak to the manager if he is free and available. Then take your application home to fill out.
If you have applied and have not heard back to work, do not be afraid to follow a phone call asking for a position. With a little perseverance, you find that career at a McDonald’s in no time.
