If you have struggled with weight loss your whole life and have searched for quick weight loss plans for years, you are not unlike me. I have researched many diet plans and have tried them all from Atkins, to South Beach to other gimmick “easy diet plans”. I know a little bit about the topic as a result. I’ve lost weight only to regain it so many times I’ve lost count. The experts would call this a weight problem.

And who doesn’t love food? I know I do. And I hate looking at myself right before the holidays and realizing that the only way to get down to the size I need to be is to starve myself with some new weight loss plan. Suffice it to say, I have a lot of personal experience with the so-called “easy” diet plans that are flooding the market today.

In searching for the right diet plan for me it was frustrating to encounter hype on top of more hype. Outrageous claims with crazy before and after photos from the testimonials served to turn me off from plans rather than draw me to them. Get real! When it took me 45 days to lose 10 pounds I knew there wasn’t much stock to be put into their “30 pounds in 30 days” claims. Many of the plans and products I’ve tried have worked, but most of them were not a long term solution to me. The plan that was right for me would help me lose weight and keep it off for the long term. It would also let me eat the kinds of food I enjoy in the quantity that would keep me filled and not craving midnight snacks!

The number of diet websites, programs, and DVDs out there is staggering. Especially so when they all claim to have the greatest solution ever conceived. What I learned from the world of diet plans is that no one diet will help you keep the weight off. Instead, you need a lifestyle change that you stick with all your life. Any kind of diet that you adhere to now will likely backfire the moment you get off it, such as the Atkins diet.

Many programs out there advocate a healthy lifestyle over a simple diet, and these are the programs I choose to follow.
