Cellulite can be one stubborn beast to tame. Many people struggle with this skin condition after giving birth, after losing large amounts of weight or simply struggle with it from the onset of puberty. Along with various topical treatments; there are a number of cellulite exercises we can all utilize to help the skin regain its proper shape and burn off the fat that hides below the surface.
Cellulite is caused by fat that gets trapped in between the bands of connective tissue in your skin. Many people attribute this condition to excess weight, but even slim people get cellulite. It’s important to realize that, for the most part, it’s a genetic condition of your skin and the way your skin’s connective tissue intertwines.
Lets take a look at some popular cellulite exercises, to stretch out your skin and burn excess fat deposits away:
1. Cardiovascular exercise There’s no great mystery here, just make sure you spend at least thirty minutes a day exercises with an elevated heart rate. Examples include: walking, running, climbing stairs, jumping rope, spinning, climbing, etc. When your heart rate is up, you’re burning fat which will help burn off the stores hidden within the cellulite on your body.
2. Anaerobic exercise While it may sound like a fancy term to some: Anaerobic means muscle-building. By strengthening and toning your muscles, you will increase your metabolism and tighten skin. Anaerobic routines make for excellent cellulite exercises and will cause your body to burn fat even while resting. Examples include: training with weights and cable machines, free standing/weighted squats, push-ups, chin-ups, elastic bands (plyometrics), etc.
Lasting Changes
By increasing your heart rate on a daily basis, not only will you benefit from reduced fat deposits on your body, but also you’re going to be strengthening your body for years to come. Simply exercising for cosmetic purposes is not enough: Most of us want to live long so we can see our children and grandchildren grow older. So if you find yourself dreading your Cellulite exercises be sure to remind yourself of the other positive benefits you’ll receive for your efforts.
