You Can Live In Health By Learning And Applying The Basics

It is common today not to question the doctors and established medicine. Get a cold or headache and most will hardily endorse the idea of rushing to the doctor, or gulping down a handful of pills. It seems that the true cause of illness is so under-addressed these days. We live in a system that was designed, and profits by, the dealing with symptoms – not the causes. Healing comes in three basic types.

1. Allopathic Medicine: a common method of handling the disease by giving remedies that produce effects which differs from those of the disease itself.

2. Holistic medicine: this method is used to consider the whole of the person.

3. Orthomolecular medicine: A form of alternative medicine that aims to prevent and cure disease by using specific doses of vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids, trace minerals, electrolytes, and other natural substances.

Ponder, especially, the first definition above. It is the one which describes the vast bulk of medicine as we consume the product today. Any drug you see, any of the “Ask your Doctor” commercials are nothing more than the marketing of masks which will hide and subdue symptoms. Diagnosis is the identification (the naming of) a disease. Hey – naming and then offering some man-made chemical to mask a symptoms is NOT, in my and many’s opinion, the way to handle disease. (See, below, a way to get a free download titled, “Disease Naming Game”.)

For a growing number, including my husband and I, we have no doubt that the most fundamental and effective means to handle our health is by holistic and orthomolecular methods.

My husband and I make some lifesyle changes which we have concluded are necessary to reduce the doctor’s visits. Thought not totally easy, in every way, anyone can make these changes without much effort. By our applying these changes we have improved out health substantially:

1. This was a BIG one, we changed what we ate at home. We went to eating mostly organic foods. We normally had been getting our food at the large discount houses. We ate the standard, inexpensive meats. Both of us, especially Ken, began to show signs of edema (swelling). Much of this was a result of the growth hormones which we were ingesting in the meat we ate. (There is so much to know – see other articles on eating meat, vegetarianism, carbs, etc.) We have found, in our research, that eating meat (good, healthy, lean meat) is the best source of essential proteins. So by changing our source of meat (a farm that produces naturally grown beef and other products) we completely changed our situation. Both of leaned out and lost the edema. When we started to make these changes I researched where to buy our food. Publix has a great area for organic vegetables. You will notice though that you can only get current fruits or vegetables when they are in season. Publix also has an organic meat section. The meat there doesn’t have any hormones, pesticides or additives. But the meat is not from grass feed animals. Grass feed animals are the best source of meat to have. We also get meat from a farm that does have grass feed animals. If you want the best meat possible, find a local farm that has grass feed cows and chickens.

2. Because our skin is the largest organ on the body, and based upon other research, we realized that anything we put ON or body is almost as much an effect upon us as what we put IN our bodies. So we began switching to cleaner and more organic shampoos, toothpaste, dish soap, laundry and body soaps.

3. After much, much research and trying many products we found (actually stumbled upon) a group of researchers which have created their own products (based on Nobel Prize winning scientific (and undisputed) research. We had looked for a source of vitamins and other nutrients to make up for the lackings in everyday food. This group was extremely impressive in that their entire approach was to find the best solutions and then to, privately (for their own members only) product these nutrients at wholesale cost. We found it to be inexpensive, simple and very effective.

We take our vitamins and supplements in powered form – mixed in water. We’ve done this since 2007. This is the absolutely best way to fully absorb the ingredients.

We think it best to learn from an follow the most basic, and indisputable research created by Nobel Laureate winners such as Dr. Linus Pauling, Otto Warburg, Dr. Keith Brewer and others (including Louis Ignarro who found the direct link to high blood pressure and lack of N.O.). Their common thread was “Orthomolecular” medicine which is the study of health through nutrition at the cellular level. Orthomolecular protocol could be described as giving back to the body that with which it was born and the body will heal itself. If you care about your health (and of course you do) you need to become educated so that you can take control of your own health.

After the 3 years taking these formulas (inexpensive and simple) we are leaner than ever, Ken’s blood pressure has fallen well into normal ranges and we see evidence every day of how wonderful we feel. Actually, it almost becomes common place and we forget about it. No pains, no joint pains, non of the aging issues which creep into everyone’s lives as their bodies loose the basic ingredients to health.
