Want To Know What’s Actually Stopping You From Losing Weight Naturally?

Part I – Identifying and Overcoming Limiting Beliefs

With more than one billion overweight people in the world and more than an estimated $67M spent on weight loss programs in the US as reported by worldometers.com, it’s not a secret that obesity is a worldwide challenge that our communities face today, and it shows no signs of getting better. And the fact that people are investing so much money into weight loss programs begs the question; why aren’t weight loss programs working?

Often, it eludes us that being told or shown what to do to help us lose weight naturally is the easy part. But taking action to lose the weight and keep it off is another story. And why is that? If we are really honest with ourselves, it has a lot to do with our mindset and the limiting beliefs that we carry around with us, and in fact, many aren’t even aware that these beliefs are lurking around within them. But it is imperative that you identify these limiting beliefs so you can eliminate them and truly move towards the weight loss goals you have set for yourself.

So how can you identify limiting beliefs?

The good news is this: identifying limiting beliefs is the easy part. Challenging them and changing them is a bit more intense, but it is possible! To identify limiting beliefs that are preventing you from losing weight, you simply need to take some time and be mindful of what you think.

For example, does any of the following sound familiar:

I can’t lose weight because I’m too busy to exercise. I can’t lose weight because I have a slow metabolism. I can’t lose weight because I’m not good enough. I’m not pretty if I’m not thin. I hate working out. I love food too much to stop eating certain things. If I had more time, I’d be able to exercise and lose weight easier. I have others I need to take care of that are more important than me. I feel fat and sloppy.

If any of these sound familiar to you, then you are your own worst enemy. Any time you focus on the negative, you are attracting more of it, so you want to be clear on the things you DO want in your life, like natural weight loss, and focus on training your mind to look at the positive aspects of losing weight and the life you want. By focusing on the positive, you will start to change your belief systems and thoughts to create the life that you do want, which is one that includes a healthy and happier you!

Some great tools to use to help you continue to change your mindset and eliminate limiting beliefs are the use of positive affirmations, vision boards, meditation and setting realistic goals for yourself.
