Insulin is necessary for getting nutrients into your cells. But a slight increase in insulin can decrease fat burning by four hundred percent.
Unfortunately, many people do not know what strategies to implement so that their levels of insulin go as low as possible.
So here is how to reduce your insulin to burn more fat:
1. Eat vegetables with every meal: This is the simplest yet most effective way to reduce your levels of insulin. You see, vegetables slow down digestion which in turn keeps your levels of blood sugar very low. And low blood sugar translates into low levels of insulin.
2. Eat plenty of dietary fat: You see, dietary fat helps keeps the membranes of your cells very healthy. And healthier membranes will make it easier for insulin to do its job. As a result, your body will secrete less insulin.
3. Avoid sugar: Dietary sugar will increase levels of insulin faster than any other type of food. So get in the habit of reading nutrition labels so that you aren’t inadvertently increasing your levels of insulin. The only time, however, that you should have insulin is right after a workout.
4. Lift lots of weights: Weight lifting is the best type of exercise for lowering insulin. You see, weight lifting makes your cells much more responsive to smaller amounts of insulin. In other words, your body gains the ability to get the job done with less insulin.
5. Avoid an overemphasis on eccentric contractions: Eccentric contractions do cause a lot of muscle damage and can theoretically induce more muscle growth. However, the increased muscle damage comes at a cost since you decrease insulin sensitivity.
6. Reduce your body fat: Paradoxically, as levels of body fat drop so does the production of insulin in your body. You see, high levels of body fat increase insulin resistance. While low levels of body fat increase insulin sensitivity.
High levels of insulin will prevent you from ever reaching your fitness goals. So make sure you take heed of the aforementioned pointers!
