It is our responsibility as parents to protect our children from the scourge of fast food. It is this junk that is encouraging our children to eat unhealthily and consume things that are actually detrimental to their health.
Our kids are suffering from a significant lack of nutritious food. We need to make sure they eat as many nutrient-rich meals as possible. Those are defined as meals containing things from each of the three food groups. Those are carbohydrate-rich foods, foods with protein and fruits and vegetables.
Our children need the essential vitamins and nutrients that are found in breads, grains, meats and fruits and vegetables. These are vital to the very process that allow us to continue to live.
Carbohydrates provide your body with the energy it needs to do the work you do every day. These complex sugars can be found in breads and cereals as well as grains and wheat.
The carbohydrate-rich foods are so important for our children. They are active all day long and it is imperative that they have the energy they need to keep going.
Proteins are just as necessary. Meats are a great source of protein, but so are eggs and cheese and even certain vegetables like soy. Your body needs them to keep its immune system operating and to maintain muscles.
Vegetables and fruits are just as essential as everything else and should be eaten in as broad a variety as possible. Every fruit and vegetable contains different vitamins and minerals that support different functions of the human body.
It may not be easy, but if you want your kids to be healthy and strong, it is imperative that you insist on the proper diet of these foods.
