Most of us want flat abs but do not want to go through any pain to get them. The TV exercise gurus will offer you equipment and a plan to achieve just that. But get real, the only thing that is going to slim down is your bank balance. You will find out, sooner or later, that you have to do some genuine exercises to get 6 pack abs.
One of the many exercises you can do are side crunches. Not only will this exercise give you a smaller waist size, but you’ll love how loose and relaxed it makes you feel. Lying on your right hip, bend your knees so that they are perpendicular to your body. Put your left hand behind your head, and place your right hand on your side. In a crunching motion, use your oblique muscles to lift your torso up over your hip. Lower your body down so it lightly touches the floor. To get the full benefit of side crunches make sure you move your torso is off the floor, focus your mind on working your oblique muscles, and make sure you get your shoulder is not on the floor.
To get a bit more from your exercises, try the double crunch. This exercise combines the crunch and a knee lift. It concentrates more on your lower abdomen. To do this exercise lie flat on your back with your legs in the air, and bend your knees at a 90-degree angle, your calves should be parallel to the floor, taking a deep breath, and focus on the ceiling. Raise your upper body until it is at 45-degrees, then hold this for 2 to 3 seconds, then slowly return to the start position.
If you have the need to increase the size of your abs, you will have to use weights with your exercises. This is because muscle tissue needs to be under stress to grow, and your ab muscles are no different. You can do most of the exercises using weights, such as sit-ups, and twists. Leg raises with weights strapped to your ankles also work well. You will get even faster results if you hold a heavy book or a water bottle when doing your exercises.
Some people have well developed abs but do not know it, as they are hidden under layers of body fat. To be in a position to to show them off you need to do a lot of cardio exercise and go on a low carbohydrate, high protein diet. These exercises and this diet will reveal your abs.
So there is really no need to go to the gym to get your six pack abs. Do not waste your time sitting in traffic jams, use it to tighten your stomach muscles. Just repeatedly tighten, then relax, your ab muscles. It cannot be easier than that. You see, exercises do not have to be time consuming. A bit of discipline and determination will help you achieve the flat stomach you have been chasing.
