Your plan need not be elaborate. It can be very simple. In fact, for many, the simple plans are better because they are easier to follow and easier to keep.

You can have a plan for the week, for the month, or for the year. But most people use a month plan because they are allow more flexibility. You need to decide how much you will lose this month. Keep it simple this first month. Let us say you want to lose one pound this month.

There is nothing wrong with setting a small goal. In fact, setting a small goal is smart. You will have an attainable goal. When you achieve your goal after one month you will have a reason to celebrate. Most weight loss experts agree that small long term weight loss is the best plan for losing and keeping weight off. So it makes sense to start off slow.

Many experts also agree that small weight loss over the long term is a better plan than losing a lot of weight in the short term. When you lose weight over the long term, you are more likely to keep the weight off. Now you need to have a plan this month for your food consumption. If you like to eat fast food and you eat fast food four times a week, cut it down to twice a week.

The idea is to have a weight loss plan you can stay with. You will plan this month to lose one pound. Next month you can plan to lose one pound or maybe two pounds if you feel ambitious. The main idea however, is to have a plan in place to keep you on track. You are well on your way to reaching your desired weight.
