The supplement industry is highly unregulated. So unregulated that the majority of supplements simply do not work.
To make matters worse, too many women keep the industry alive by spending money on nothing more than sugar pills. In all fairness, however, there are some supplements that do work and can really help in specific situations.
And having knowledge about ineffective supplements is beneficial so that you don’t fall into the buying traps.
So without further ado, here are supplements you should NOT be spending money on when trying to get toned arms:
1. Amino acids. Bodybuilders love amino acids because they believe they increase muscle mass. And more muscle mass translates into more calories burned which would accelerate arm toning. The problem here, however, is that amino acids compete for absorption.
2. Energy drinks/pills. Tons of companies have jumped on the energy drink and energy pill bandwagon. And while these can help you stay alert and active in emergencies, they should NOT be a part of your regular consumption. They can damage your digestive lining, mask a sleep debt, reduce sleep quality without you being aware, etc.
3. Meals in a bag. Meal replacements are everywhere. But the truth is that a bunch of powdery stuff in a bag will never be able to match a properly balanced meal in its nutritional entirety. Whole food simply has way too many undiscovered nutrients and compounds that supplements do not.
4. Protein. Stay away from anything that digests quickly, including protein. Your will burn more arm fat and recover faster from workouts with regular food.
5. Fat blockers. Stay away from anything that blocks the absorption of fat. Dietary fat is critical for the production of arm fat burning hormones in your body. It also helps get more nutrients into your active tissues.
It’s not necessary for you to spend tons of money on supplements and sugar pills to get toned arms. The most important step to get you moving in the right direction is to begin eating solid, wholesome food. The slower digestion rate will work wonders for your arms.
