A Review Of Elliptical Trainers

When we were presented with reviewing the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer, we were skeptical, we must admit. After all, we have reviewed many elliptical trainers through the years and we haven’t found one that stands along amongst the competition. One thing that this trainer had going for it was the fact that it was made by Schwinn, which is a very reputable company that knows bikes and even exercise equipment. So, with that in mind, we set about reviewing the 430 to see if it would give is a better workout than all the others.

For All Skill Levels?

One thing we usually find with elliptical trainers is that they are either for beginners or they’re for experts. Rarely is there any in-between. However, the Schwinn 430 Elliptical advertises that it’s the perfect home gym for people of any skill level. So, we had one of us with no experience try it, and we had another one of us with a lot of experience on elliptical try it out and we recorded the results. What we found was that the 430 was surprisingly easy to use.

The beginner found that he received a full body workout without really needing to get used to the elliptical’s movements. A lot of machines out there feel extremely uncomfortable when you first try them out, but our experimenter loved the ease he felt. Our experienced elliptical user even found that the 430 challenged him in new areas. He said the Schwinn 430 Elliptical offered an impact-free motion, and the combination of upper and lower body flexibility was a nice setup. It ended up being all the things that most people look for in an elliptical trainer. While it sounded great, we still weren’t convinced, which meant more tests needed to be done.

Special Features

The whole idea here was to find that one issue that would group the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer with all the other machines out there. During our research we ended up finding more opportunities as opposed to setbacks. One of them is the BioGlide motion technology, which offers natural movement. It also feels more comfortable thanks to the BioFit comfort footpads and handlebars.

To help challenge even the most experienced fitness enthusiast, there are eight computer controlled resistance levels and eight workout programs that include manual, six profile programs and a calorie goal function. Of course there is also a quick start function like most elliptical machines have.

Easy to Store

The Schwinn elliptical stores easily so that it won’t take up much space when it’s not in use. That’s important for those people who don’t have a lot of space in their home to accommodate the machine. Plus, the stride is only 18 inches so it should even work well in an apartment.

The only drawback that we found when we used the Schwinn 430 is that the user can only be 275 lbs. or under. While that still may accommodate most people, there are some people out there who will find that inconvenient because they’ll be too heavy to use it.

In the end, the Schwinn 430 lived up to the hype and provided both our beginner and expert with benefits to using it. It was definitely nice to hear that our test subjects enjoyed using it, which means just about anyone can use it. So we highly recommend looking into all the benefits and features to the 430, because it could be the perfect choice for your new workout program.
