3. Calcium can cause kidney stones: Your best bet is to get calcium from natural sources of food like leafy greens. If you take supplements you increase the risk of developing kidney stones. So always go the natural route first.

4. Natural foods will always have more bio-available nutrients than supplements: First, natural foods interact with each other synergistically to increase total nutrient load. Supplements, on the other hand, have to go through a manufacturing process which strips them of their nutrition.

5. Less is better: The less supplements you have in your diet the better. You see, nobody knows for sure if supplements are safe in the long run. And if you get the majority of your nutrition from whole foods, you will be far better off here.

6. Teas can be just as powerful as weight loss pills: Loose leaf teas like green tea and yerba mate can be just as good as any weight loss pill. Even better, they will be much cheaper since you don’t have to absorb the marketing cost.

Dietary supplements are usually a waste of money. You are far better off getting your nutrition from whole foods for the best results.
