Toner is the first skincare product to apply after a facial cleansing. If toner is too irritating, your skin may become sensitive. To test the mildness of your toner, we need to know its PH value. You just need to drop a few drops of toner onto the PH paper and check its PH value. The higher the PH value, the more alkaline it is. The optimal range of PH value for toner is PH 5.5 to PH7. Skincare products with PH value under or below this range are either too acidic or too alkaline.
After applying your toner, you may apply different type of essences. Essences are usually quite expensive. They are worth buying only if they can be highly absorbed by your skin. To test the absorbency of your essence, you need a small pile of cotton pad. Add a drop of the essence onto the pile of cotton pad. Find out how many layers the essence can pass through. If the essence is able to pass through more than 3 layers, it can be considered as worth buying.
The third test is for absorbency of your moisturizer. Moisturizer can be categorized as oil or moisture rich. Moisture rich moisturizer is easier for skin to absorb. Get a glass of water and drop a pea size of moisturizer into the water. For those floating on water and easily dissolved with a stir, they are likely to be oil rich. For the sinking and insoluble ones, they are likely to be moisture rich.
