Article Sixteen: Day Two on My Prescription HCG Very Low Calorie Diet

I went shopping again last night to get ready for day 2 on the very low calorie diet (VLCD). It’s always more effective to go to the grocery store in the late night in comparison to mid-day. I think throughout the course of this diet that I’m going to need to go to the grocery store a lot more often than normal. But I can do that.

I really like the fact that I’m going to be cooking healthy meals. Dinner last night was totally healthy and really tasty and I cooked it myself. And I have to say that I’m impressed with myself a little bit.

My morning started off with me getting up out of bed (more like dragging, really…I’m not a morning person) and getting on the scale to find out that I’m at 165.2 pounds. My first day left me at a loss of almost 6 pounds. Wowwee! If that were to happen everyday I would be on cloud nine! But really, just that it happened once is making me pretty dang happy.

I am just assuming that this is one of those days that marks several pounds weight loss followed by a few days of plateau. Due to the way the body handles fat this apparently happens frequently on the prescription HCG diet. But it should even out to hit the average daily weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds.

It is Saturday. I totally ignored the fact that yesterday was Black Friday; the biggest shopping day of the year. I blew off the sale shopping bit because I hadn’t thought of anything I needed desperately. Plus I was really busy. I was ona diet!

But I did realize just this morning that I forgot one thing that I really needed to buy on sale. So I got ready to have a day away from home. I took my injection and my B-Total in the morning and then did the stuff around the house to get ready to go. We were going to leave after lunch.

I had leftovers from last night for lunch: Shake and Bake Tilapia. I really liked that recipe that we pulled from the HCG Diet Direct Recipe Guide. With the fish I had a sliced tomato with pepper and an apple (that I tossed in my purse for an on the go snack).

My kids begged for kids’ meals since they knew where we were headed and I promised them we’d stop for kids’ meal during the day.

We got to the mall and got moving. After we hit a couple stores the kids reminded me that we forgot to stop and get them lunch and now they were hungry (I had eaten lunch quite early since we were going to be at the mall…not a lot of HCG approved meals or snacking there).

With Chick-fil-a on my left and Panda Express on my right is it any surprise that I broke? I had a bit of chicken from both my kids’ plates. And it was definitely not on the prescription HCG diet plan’s approved foods list.

I’m on Day 2 and I totally ventured off plan. I went to the mall food court of all places! Dang it! I did do well once I got back home though. I had a romaine salad. I also gave myself a lecture and promised that I wouldn not ever do that again! Tomorrow’s a new day, right?
