Fighting Obesity Phase III: The mind-body and spirit connection

Our minds and bodies are one. Our physical well-being impacts our emotions and vice versa. If you are fighting obesity you absolutely need to think about the psychological factors that are influencing your behaviors. Your attitude is crucial. A positive attitude has a significant impact on your over-all health. If we could teach one thing to people that would have more impact on their health and general success in life it would be how to think positively. Dr. Norman Vincent Peal’s classic work, The Power of Positive Thinking, should be required reading. You can absolutely learn to think positively.

Exercise, the next phase in fighting obesity

If you struggle with your weight the second phase of a complete weight management program is to increase the amount of calories you burn. Exercising causes you to burn more calories. Far too many Americans simply do not get enough exercise in their every day activities, so they must find ways to add that exercise into their daily routines. Even if you are fortunate enough not to struggle with weight problems, exercising is a vital part of having good health.

The first phase in the fight against obesity is getting good nutrition education!

There is no one cause of obesity; however, if you want to understand the causes so you can find the solutions to obesity it is important to stick to the basics. There are three over-arching factors that people can control that have a tremendous influence on how people become obese and what they can do about it. The factors are all found in each individual. Every one struggling with controlling their weight must understand they are at cause, meaning they cannot solve the problem by passing the reason for the obesity to someone or something else. They must become educated on the issue and most importantly they must take action!
