He was full of joy during his daughter’s graduation party. But as time approached for her start in college, he grew increasingly worried. His daughter would be living away from home for the first time. The damaging things he heard about college life did not do him any good.

I do brisk walking as a form of exercise almost every morning. I have a favorite route across the park. In one of my walks, a man robbed me of my iPod and wallet but he left me unharmed.

After graduation, I soon realized that the in-crowd is not confined to classrooms. There was one in the office and another in the place I got upon moving out, except the latter was a whole other animal.

A toy panda, which encased the Child Guard wireless alarm system, saved me from going astray at a ball game. I was only 5, according to my mother. It is possibly why I give importance to having a personal security alarm.

When I won one of the grand prizes in the lottery, I immediately bought the car of my dreams. With this car, I have to be specially protected because it can be a little too showy.

The 10 minutes it takes to cover the distance from my office to parking space nightly gives me the most anxiety. This, despite my having gone abroad countless times. After a tough day, usually prolonged by overtime work, is when I am least alert.

I cannot forget that time when three men ran away with my bike. I was enjoying my ride at the park when suddenly they popped out from nowhere and forcibly took my bike away.

My friend Keith recently moved to a new apartment right across the street from mine because he often got robbed in his previous one. I offered him to stay with me but he politely declined.

I was getting annoyed when more and more of my personal things were getting lost. I asked my room mates if they had seen my graduation ring. Not anyone of them seemed to have a clue. At one time, the pearl necklace that was given me by my mother went missing. It seemed that this thief had a special liking to my small precious items.

Lots of criminals lurked around the corner in the fearful neighborhood where I lived when I was little, but they never harmed us. Still, it was not good for one not to worry because they could eventually change that mindset.
