Pictures of models that are so thin are becoming the trend of ideal body size these days. Women are striving hard to achieve such smaller weights as influenced by adverts on television and other mass media avenue. Healthy diet and exercise are the best combination in keeping our body fit. However, men and women these days, being drowned on their careers, are choosing to go to the gym to shed off unwanted fats rather than eating healthy foods.
Getting hungry is another way where people are trying to loose weight. It may give the impression that one is losing weight faster than the one going to the gym, but it is a misconception. When hunger takes its toll, then you will just eat as much as you can to satisfy the hunger. When there are not enough nutrients in your body, then the metabolic process slows down. When you resume your regular eating, it will stock up all the calories it can take, thus results in weight gain. This method is called yo-yo dieting. Rapidly taking off several pounds and getting it again in short span of time.
People think that the only way to lose weight in any meaningful way is to shed pounds at a fast rate by a starvation diet. This will work to a point but has the disadvantage that can see the pounds put back on just as quick. When you start to feel hungry, it is difficult to ignore the temptation. When your body tells you of your lack of nutrition, your metabolism slows. This is a problem when you resume normal eating as you will pile on the calories. This phenomenon is known as yo-yo dieting, which is the drastic reduction followed by excessive gains in weight over a short period of time.
Eat only on the dinner table and in the right timing. Do not eat and do other things as it will only result to too much intake without you noticing it. Avoid eating too much, eat slowly and chew your food fully. Binging while stressed is not a good thing as well. Try an alternative to ease your stress other than binging. You may try taking a walk with your dog or do some jogging. Break your aim into pieces. Realistic goals in losing weight will get you somewhere rather than aiming for a quick weight drops that is not easily achievable. In the process you will only get depressed about it. Losing your weight slowly is a realistic prospect rather than crash dieting. You can see and feel the result and it will result to healthy mind and body.
