Perfume is the luxurious product introduced by the France royal family to the world in the 18th century. Nowadays, many of you may have more than one perfume at home. Due to the advance of cosmetic technology, most of the perfumes are made from different chemicals today instead of natural plant extracts (in the old days). This makes fragrances more and more popular. But, the improper use of these chemically made perfumes can be dangerous. If you know nothing about this, you should start paying attention now!
The first rule is never to wear too much perfume. Wearing too much perfume is definitely an offending habit to people surrounding you. It is also no good to your health. For an ordinary perfume, it may contain as many as 500 different chemicals. Though without official researches, these chemicals may lead to birth defects, cancers, and central nervous system disorders. If the scent can be detected more than a meter, it is already too much.
The body areas to apply your perfume are also important. Spraying perfume on undesirable body areas may lead to different skin problems. Quite a lot of you love to spray a huge amount of fragrance onto your neck. This is no good as your neck is very likely to be exposure under UV light. Sunlight or UV light may cause pigmentation on your skin when they get in touch with perfume on your neck. Therefore, you should avoid spraying perfume on exposed body parts but on your collars and sleeves.
Some people spray a lot of fragrance onto their bodies in order to cover up their unpleasant (sweat) smells. To be frank, fragrance should not be used as deodorizers. The smell of fragrance is usually strong and unique, mixing such fragrance with your ammonia smell of sweat is just awful. Though it may cover your body odor, the resulting combined scent is usually not that pleasant!
Fragrances from different brands are made with different chemicals. In addition, each fragrance has its own unique scent. You should not use several different brands of perfume at a same time. This may be harmful to your skin and at the same time produce an unpleasant smell.
Fragrance though not eatable, it has a characteristic similar to food. Fragrance also has its own expiry date. With the preservatives added in the perfume, they can be kept for a long time. But, still, there is a day there it will expire. You should pay attention to this date and never use an expired fragrance!
