While shopping for a gas grill, I came across a very interesting grill from Char-Broil and that is the Char-Broil Quantum Infrared Gas Grill. It really caught my attention basically it wasn’t the conventional gas grill type you will find online.
This gas grill isn’t the large kind of gas grill but it is really quite generous with cooking space but keeping the whole frame compact for storage at the same time. It has a wide 320 square inch primary cooking area and a 125 square inch secondary cooking area. I must say that Im impressed that I could cook steaks, potatoes, mushrooms, chicken wings and sausages on the primary area without having an trouble at all with space. The side folding shelves was handy since I could put some of my grilling tools there and some finished grilled food too.
I was quite impressed with how fast this thing cooked. It cooks much faster than previous grills I’ve owned and it even manages to give me that nice searing look on my meat without compromising on flavour. It also uses less propane then similar sized models. Each bite on my rib eye was really juicy. My first test run with this was successful and I was so pleased when the grilled steak turned out great.
Some people might be worried about flare-ups with this model but you don’t have to because it will not happen no matter how many steaks, burgers, potatoes etc you try to cook on this grill. I don’t even have to worry about cleaning because I’m quite a clean freak. Although I make quite a bit of mess after cooking, I will make sure that the gas grill is clean enough before keeping it. Assembly time took about 1.5 hours and it wasn’t too difficult as long as you follow the instructions. Another thing that I really like about this model is that it doesn’t take too long for it to get hot and start grilling! I was pretty skeptical at first with the infrared technology since the heat transfer through convection was the norm for a long time. But I wasn’t disappointed! One thing that I do notice is that if you grill things in the centre, it tends to heat and cook faster so there is probably some issues with even heat distribution. Anyway, there is a little grey manual on some quick grilling tips!
On the whole this gas grill is really nice looking the sturdy construction and stainless steel finish on the lids, infrared emitters, doors and grates gives it the long lasting quality look! of course it depends on how well you take care of it. I would recommend cleaning this item after each grilling session to ensure that it stays clean for the next grilling session.
