Causes & Fixes For Below Eye Wrinkles

Facing under eye wrinkles can be tough for some people. There many causes and about as many solutions. Whether it’s an at home remedy, a cream bought at a store, toxic injections, or going under the knife, people are always coming up with new solutions.

The most obvious cause of under eye wrinkles is simply aging. Every day facial expressions over the course of a lifetime will gradually cause little creases in the skin under your eyes. Although there are the very few that age gracefully and never need to worry about wrinkles. For the rest of us, I give you a list of causes and solutions.

Although aging is the main reason people get wrinkles, the process can be sped up by exposure to other factors. Sun exposure, in excess, will cause the most damage. UVA & UVB rays from the sun break down nutrients in the skin causing it to age quicker. Wearing sunblock with an SPF of 15 or higher, a good hat, and sunglasses will help from being over exposed. Sunglasses are important to keep from squinting in the sun’s light.

Another cause of premature aging is smoking and alcohol. These can deprive your skin from absorbing needed nutrients and also dehydrate it. The amount of oxygen in your body is decreased from smoking. Alcohol prohibits your body from absorbing the vitamins it needs. Over time, these two toxins will rob your skin of what it needs and lead to wrinkles earlier in life.

With the knowledge of what causes under eye wrinkles, we can now focus on fixing the issue. The least expensive, and probably the most common, treatment is special creams and lotions. There are hundreds of brands starting with ones found in local stores costing only about $10-$15 all the way up to high end stores and major companies charging hundreds of dollars. Basically they all do the same thing by re-hydrating the skin & removing dead cells. This will help relieve the appearance of wrinkles. To keep up this appearance you will have to make a daily regiment of this.

Botox is another quick fix for wrinkles. It is a toxin injected under the skin. Botox works by either paralyzing or relaxing muscles in your face. This creates a smoother look to the skin. Treatments only last about three to six months. Although Botox treatments are more expensive than creams and lotions, it is less expensive and quicker than surgery. Being that it is a toxin there are always risks and should only be performed by a professional.

Another solution to getting rid of wrinkles under your eyes, is surgery. This is usually done by removing excess skin. This can be done as an out patient procedure under local anesthesia. Although surgery is a more expensive approach, it is a more permanent solution.

Although escaping Mother Natures natural aging is nearly impossible, it is best to weigh out your options before taking action against under age wrinkles. Research ingredients in the creams and read the reviews. You don’t need to buy into the hype of the bigger named brands. As for Botox treatments and surgery, be sure to research the credentials of the Doctors.
