The other food groups are allowed but only in very limited quantities, depending on which diet plan you are taking. Weight loss is impossible without a calorie restriction, so each diet has to provide fewer calories than your body needs to maintain your weight. A diet that claims otherwise can end up causing weight gain. You must choose the diet plan that would best fit your lifestyle.
