Dieting – How To Lose 30 Pounds – Insights

As we consider how our lives should be in the future, mental images pop into our heads. Perhaps we think of having a really good relationship, with more expensive holidays and a luxury home. It’s probable we’ll view our figure differently – with less body fat and a more toned physique.

Honing in on the new things we want to have is a good starting base when thinking of which goals we want to reach. Achieving successful goals isn’t going to happen if we don’t see them in our minds eye first.

However, we have to be prepared to make some changes, prior to having all these brilliant things. We must be prepared to alter the things we do if we want to alter the things we have. Said another way – we’ll always have what we’ve always had if we’re not prepared to change the things we do.

Significant achievements only come about when we alter both what we do and the way we think. So the right thought process and effort comes first, to achieve the results we want to have. Giving to get is not a new concept to most of us! Though effort alone won’t inevitably bring results.

Success is achieved by behaving and thinking like an achiever; by adopting the beliefs and attitudes of a successful person before we’ve got there in reality. So the person who’s objective is a weight reduction of 35lbs in a year’s time has to change to being a conscientious dieter who each week makes exercising a priority for a pre-set amount of time.

Hanging out with friends comes after the work-out’s been completed. A success-oriented person believes in delayed gratification, where the right effort will bring the right rewards. Slimming with a positive attitude brings results in faster and makes the whole discipline much easier.

Success doesn’t happen on its own. Developing the mindset of an achiever is a powerful weapon against the knocks, criticisms and doubts that will inevitably come our way.

If we look at how others have reached their goals (in autobiographies and such-like) we can build some resilience. We come across the same story time after time; their attitude and self-image is what created the results. So the formula is apparent – to have what we want, and relish the tasks we need to do, we must first embrace who we have to be.
