The thing you should start with when you decide to lose weight is to write your goal down on a sheet of paper. Is it to lose 5 kilos, or 10, or maybe even 20? Cardio exercises are those who get your heart rate in a zone, called ‘fat-burning’, and keep it in this zone for half an hour. Examples of cardio exercises are climbing the stairs, running or elliptical machines, and should be done no less than 3 times per week.
When training for muscle strength and endurance, you can exercise all major body parts once a week with moderate to heavy weight, depending on your abilities. Try to stay aways from machines and use free weights instead – they exercise more muscles. When combining cardio with weight sessions, and you train regularly and consistently, you will burn fat, build muscles and speed up your metabolism at the same time.
But remember that unless you commit to your goal of getting slimmer and you take the necessary steps towards it, even the best tip in the universe won’t help you. Don’t turn to powders and pills, which offer quick solutions with short-term results only. If you want to achieve what you aim for, you need to live healthier and be active.
