Most supplements are a waste of money, unfortunately. However, there are a select few that can make the process of getting in shape a little easier.
The bad news is that most people have no idea which ones work.
So here are 6 dietary supplements that are worth buying:
1. Caffeine tablets: Now if you are having ventis at Starbucks, caffeine tablets are probably not going to help here. You see, a venti can have up to 300 milligrams of caffeine. And I recommend taking no more than 50 milligrams of caffeine in tablet form before exercise.
2. Fish oil pills: Now the key here is to make sure the fish oil pills have high amounts of DHA. You want to get 1,000 milligrams of DHA per day for the best effects here. Also, never take more than 3 grams of fish oil per day because at this level you run the risk of damaging your heart.
3. A low dose multi vitamin: The key here is that it should be low dose. Most people take multi vitamins with way too many nutrients. And the issue here is that you can reach toxic levels very quickly. So go for moderation here.
4. The bone mineral: Calcium and vitamin D are so important on so many levels. Unfortunately, too many people are overdoing intakes here. And when taken in excess, both of these nutrients can cause some nasty side effects.
5. Whey protein: Now you shouldn’t be having multiple shakes per day here. After all, too much protein does way more harm than good. The best strategy here is to only have whey protein right after a heavy bout of exercise.
6. Dextrose: This is a type of carbohydrate that your muscles will absorb very quickly. Thus, the only time you should have it is immediately after heavy training. Otherwise, you want to be eating the slowest digesting carbs possible.
The majority of supplements will be a waste of your money. But the above supplements will be worth your money and they will produce modest effects!
