Do You Really Want To Lose Weight: Take Our Diet Quiz Now

If you’re overweight, you want to lose weight not only so you’ll be more attractive, but also so that you’ll be healthier and will have more energy. However, often dieters start a new weight loss program, and then give it up. They haven’t taken the time to ask themselves whether they’re ready to make changes in their life.

In my working life as a weight loss professional, when I first meet a client I take the time to question them, and to talk about what they can expect as they develop a healthier lifestyle. Let’s imagine that you’ve come to see me.

Ask yourself some simple questions: the ones I would ask. Your answers will tell you a great deal about your state of mind, and whether you’re ready to dive into a new weight loss program.

1. Can you commit to changing the way you eat, and what you eat? You must be willing to make new and better food choices. You’ll also need to commit to changing the way you shop, cook, and what you order in restaurants.

2. Are you ready to create a fitness program for yourself? In addition to eating healthily, you’ll need to develop a gentle workout. Initially, don’t aim for anything too strenuous. A short daily walk gets you started.

3. Will you write down what you eat each day? You need to write down everything you eat and drink each day. This means you write down everything – even the milk in your coffee. Most of us are surprised when we see how much we eat, and exactly what we eat and when.

4. Can you commit to taking time for yourself each day? Often we put on weight as a way of comforting ourselves. We eat to relieve stress. There are better ways to enjoy yourself. Think about the things you like to do (or used to do) which don’t involve food.

5. What will weight loss success mean to you? When you’re overweight, you draw less attention to yourself. By losing weight, you’ll become more attractive, and you’ll get more attention from others. If you’re not ready for this, admit it, and figure out ways you could handle it.

Some people expect that their lives will change when they lose weight. They’re surprised when the people around them don’t like the slim person they’ve become. When Oprah lost weight a few years ago, many viewers couldn’t relate to her slim, vital persona.

Did you answer YES to all five questions? If you did, you’re ready to lose weight. If you’re not sure about the answer to some of the questions, think about changes you can make to make losing weight easier.
