Does P90x really work? Quite simply, yes, this exercise program really does work. Continue reading for an explanation of why it works the way it does.
Browsing through the infomercials on T.V., you can see a lot of hyped up products that promise to save you time, money, give you the body you’ve always wanted, and everything in between. Many people have bought these products after buying into the claims and have been burned. Perhaps you are one of them. It is understandable to be skeptical of the results you see of the people who have done P90x, but let me tell you, it is the real deal. Since I have finished the program myself, I know for a fact that this program really does work.
How does the program work so well? It follows some very basic principles that have been time tested through the years to cause weight loss and an overall improvement in health, fitness, and physique. While following the program you’ll be watching your calories and eating less, eating better foods, and exercising regularly. Over time, all these done together will cause anyone to get ripped.
Using the materials in the P90x package sent to you, you will learn how many calories you should be eating each day. The amount of calories you are allowed to eat is less than the amount of calories you burn in a day. This is a very simple way to lose weight. By eating less calories than you burn each day, you open the door to weight loss.
When you are working out as hard as you are on the P90x program, your body needs to be fed healthier foods. If you want results faster then you need to give your body what it needs so it can recover faster after each workout. The way to do this is to throw out the nutrient devoid junk food and replace it with healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats. That is exactly what you’ll be doing if you follow the 90 day program.
The 90 days are mainly spent doing hour long to an hour and a half long workouts. When there are now workouts to do on the schedule, there is a rest day or a stretch day where the body takes the day off to heal and recover. This kind of program works wonders for developing a lean physique.
The last way P90x is so effective is because it incorporates “muscle confusion”. In short, muscle confusion is the concept that by changing the workout routines regularly so that the muscles don’t have time to adapt, growth can happen faster. Each month the workout routine changes so that the muscles have new and challenging exercises and workout routines to preform. Without doing this, the body can adapt and get so good at doing the same, regularly done exercises that it is no longer as beneficial to continue doing them. When you change the exercise though, the muscles are challenged again, which will open the door to faster growth and better results.
