Easy Recipes For Making Your Own Oatmeal Facials At Home

Many people prefer to use natural ingredients in their skin treatments. There’s no reason to spend money at the spa, after all, when you can get the same results with ingredients found in your kitchen. Some people use homemade facials to save money; others because of sensitivity to the chemicals in mass produced products. Still others make their own because they prefer natural ingredients. Regardless of your reasons for making your own, look into those using oatmeal, which is great for the skin. The following oatmeal facial recipes are good ones to try.

Warm up half a cup of water in your microwave for a couple minutes. While the water warms, mix together instant oatmeal, honey, cinnamon, and toddlers milk in a bowl. Add the heated water to the bowl of ingredients and mix to create a paste. Before applying the paste to your face, test the temperature so you don’t burn your skin. Spread the paste evenly over your face but avoid your eyes. Allow the paste to sit on your skin for 30 to 60 minutes. Use papaya soap, which can be found in the organic section of your grocery store, and water to wash off the mask. If you don’t want to use papaya soap, use whatever you have on hand.

You can also combine a fourth cup of oatmeal, a fourth cup of almonds, a tablespoon of cornstarch, and a tablespoon of chamomile tea. Place the mixture into glass jars after blending them together in a blender or a food processor. When you want to use it, put a couple teaspoons on your hand and make a paste by adding a bit of water. Spread the mixture on your face in soft circular motions, gently using your fingers. After spreading it on your face, avoiding the eyes, rinse with warm water and a soft wash cloth.

Also try dampening three tablespoons of oatmeal with a bit of water, then add two teaspoons of witch hazel. Mix ingredients together, then apply using upward, circular motions. After letting it sit for just a moment or two, use clean water to thoroughly rinse your face. Gently pat your face dry, using a soft, dry towel.

You probably already have all the necessary ingredients to make these simple recipes. Making your own facials will save you money while giving you beautiful skin. Considering you can get the same results in the comfort of your home, why spend extra money at a spa?
