Eating Cheap Never Means Eating Healthy

Protein, fiber, antioxidants, vitamin C, growth hormones, maltodextrin, high fructose corn syrup??? Ok this list started off sounding great right? Well, if you are one of those people who believes the tried and true statement of “you are what you eat”, don’t you think we should know WHAT we are eating? If what we put in our bodies truly results in us becoming it, we should be thinking about what we are consuming. The truth of the matter is, we think that what we are consuming is what we want to be, but have you looked close enough to really know the ingredients and makeup of your food?

For the average person today walking into a grocery store, the over abundance of choices and items is apparent almost immediately. Most of us live in a world with more options than we know what to do with. We would assume that with more choices comes better prices, and we have been taught to seek out the best prices on comparable items. There’s nothing wrong with this philosophy, yet when we think about our health verses our wallet this idea is actually contrary to how we should be thinking. Why is this the case?

It safe to say that the large majority of these competing products all come from a relatively short list of main companies, so we shouldn’t be looking for the best deal but for what is most REAL. What do I mean by real? Well some might say “corn is real what’s wrong with corn?” Absolutely nothing when used in its original purposeful form. Now when you take that corn and genetically modify it to be a cheaper form of something that it isn’t.well now that is when we have a problem.

This substance is now commonly known as high fructose corn syrup. This is just the first in a line of “real” substances altered to create foods that that provide no true nutritional value to the eater. It has truly become an epidemic in the common food choice. Everywhere you turn these “real” substances have been snuck into even the most common product as rice and pasta. This substance is linked with obesity, early onset diabetes, and high blood pressure.

For the sake of your health this is why it is important for you to read labels. The real question then is what exactly should I be looking for? Well to begin with why not consider one of the easiest steps to getting real food and start by shopping for organics. The word Organics could be summed up cor defined as food grown the old fashioned way, the real food without any hormones, unnatural fillers or genetically altered substances that we normally see. If organics are just to expensive or not readily available than try all natural foods, foods that have 5 or less ingredients on the label. With just a few of these simple yet powerful changes you are guaranteed to become healthier and be truly what you eat.

There are many different kinds of Workout Routines available for weight loss. One of my personal favorites though is the Rockin Body workout a great program designed to help you dance the weight off.
