Fat Burning 101

You may be sick and tired of hearing this but diet coupled with exercise makes the best way to lose fat. You may have spent hours and hours looking for the perfect diet to lose that pesky flap of fat hanging from the top of your jeans but the truth is, fat burning is just balancing the correct diet, exercise and training techniques.

Regardless if the fat you have is from carbohydrates or fat, the important thing is that you should use / burn more calories than you consume. It is 100% sure that you don’t stand a chance to lose fat if you eat more than you move. There are some tips that will help you burn fat:

Avoid too much salt. Salt is good for the body but in generally small amounts. Too much of it can make your body absorb water making you gain weight. A lot of high salt foods are generally unhealthy. You may want to substitute spices in the dishes that you cook. Be aware though. Some brands have salt hidden in the labels.

Do not eat before going to bed. The rule of thumb is not to eat anything at least 2 hours before going to sleep. You will not be actively moving in your sleep unless you sleepwalk and the calories from the food you ate that that are unused during sleep will immediately convert to fat. You will then be fat converting instead of fat burning. Choose your midnight snacks wisely.

Be active. The best way to burn fat is to exercise. Being on the go means that your body is converting fat into energy, not merely storing fat alone. Exercise will increase your metabolism and also produce more fat burning enzymes. Try walking, jogging, running, swimming or bicycling. You can even attend workout classes.
