The Spanish conquistadores brought sweet peaches to Delaware in 1500’s. After a century, peaches were so abundant that pigs enjoyed them as food. It was just nicknamed Tomato State because indeed its tomatoes were the tastiest of all. Jersey farmers never picked tomatoes green or gas them with ethylene to make up with states demands. They grew Ramapo Tomato which was best when picked ripe on its vines and sold them locally. Finally, end your fruity pedals cycling trip at the exotic Island of Hawaii. It was nicknamed Pineapple State for its capacity to produce 60 percent of canned pineapples worldwide. James Dole settled there in 1899 and founded his own pineapple Kingdom. He then transformed the island of Lana’I to make way for growing pineapples. Take a trip there and quench your thirst with some tasty pineapples.
