Sneaky Tip #1: Forget everything you know about exercise. Reach deep in your brain and pull out all that old wiring. It’s total crap. Really. Think about it. By reading this sentence you’re already admitting everything you’ve done isn’t working. You’re fat. Slugging around 20 pounds or more of the stuff you hate to see bulging out of your clothes.

Certainly you can track your carbohydrates and fat grams until you become crazy. But the real secret to getting thin is to cut your calories. A trick a friend of mine uses works quite well. He eats half of everything he makes. So for example, in the morning, he’ll make a huge egg and bean burrito for breakfast. But, he cuts it in half and saves the uneaten half for the next day.

Tip #2: Everyday you have tons of time to workout. A long time ago I found a very simple workout which can be done in the office or at school. It’s based on isometric exercises. They are strength training workouts you can do anywhere. Most take a minute or two. An old college friend turned me on to them.

What she found was the enormous time she has at work helps her crank out a few hundred calories from her daily intake by doing these exercises.

At first, she thought her co-workers would notice. Then she discovered just the opposite.

The sad thing is most people surf online when things are slow at work. Granted, they should be more productive but let’s face it. Most jobs have down time. He takes advantage of these small parts of each day to crank out a few isometric exercises instead of hanging out with co-workers in the cafeteria.

Tip #3: A little secret most people are unfamiliar with is hypnosis. It’s a process many professional athletes use to visualize their performance. Research has proven that self-hypnosis can increase your outlook on anything from body image to motivation.

What I discovered about visualization conditioning is it is no different than self-hypnosis. Actually, it is the same thing.

Lastly, if you think back to when you were a kid, you probably did the same thing. I know I did. Who didn’t dream about becoming an athlete, actor, Doctor or writer at some point? Granted, I never became an astronaut, but I did become a writer for TV and radio a few decades later after thinking and visualizing about the career in my childhood. Applying these same techniques in your dream to get thin and get fit can work if you commit a mere 20 minutes a day to visualizing yourself where you want go (and how you will look).
