Just because the “new” American average woman is a size 12, and men a 36 or more in the waist does not mean it is a healthy average. Studies show 36% of American adults are scientifically obese (30lbs or more overweight) and 31% are overweight. Combined to make a whopping 67% of Americans are unhealthy.
Adults that are overweight do a lot less in life, and are more unhappy than people who are fit. If you have a weight problem and do not agree, you are most likely fooling yourself. Get yourself back on track and to where you want to be.
Do Less! Surprising? It is to most people. But what most people do not realize is that they are actively getting bigger. Meaning, most of what you do is adding the pounds. Stop going to Starbucks for a latte. Stop going to the vending machine for a bag of chips. Stop saying it is too hard to lose the weight. Stop!
Just consider yourself waking up in the morning to head out for work early so you can sit in a rather long slow moving line for a fat loaded Mocha Latte. Why not just cut the process out all together and save yourself a whole lot of trouble in all ways. It slims your wallet while making you look bigger and only adds to how unhealthy you are.
Instead of a coffee boost for your morning, try having a tall glass of orange juice accompanied by a B12 vitamin. This will help give your metabolism a little fuel to speed up. You should always have something to eat even if contains a lot of fat than to eat nothing so that your metabolism fires up.
Lunch. If you need a mid morning snack, stick with fruits, vegetables, and nuts. I eat a lot of apples because apples are hearty and can take the edge off hunger. They also contain an insoluble fiber known as pectin which aides in digestion. 1 apple and a handful of almonds should keep you good until lunch. For vegetables, try celery or baby carrots with almond butter.
To maintain a healthy diet be sure to eat light, for example a chicken sandwich, or some salad. Most of the time people feel hungry when on a diet, which makes it very tempting to eat something the diet restricts. Monitoring your food intake is healthier than going on a diet. Lay off the cheeses, sauces, mayo, and dressings; these are big factors for gaining pounds.
It is usually dinnertime where it becomes easy to be healthy; you have the ability to make whatever it is that you wish. Keep that main dish either fish or chicken. If you are not a world-class chef, do not worry, just bake the chicken and or fish in tinfoil with some pepper, onion, salt, and garlic. Then try a side dish of steamed vegetables to pair it up with.
If you are overweight, you likely have to have some food before going off to bed. If this is the case, you must take control of yourself quickly. This is bad since the food eaten before sleeping does not digest right at all. If you cannot go without eating before going to bed then eat some nuts, vegetables, or fruits.
There is no real secret to weight loss. It is simply eating right to lose eight along with enough exercise. Remember the things you can cut out in your diet and watch your food intake and you will lose weight successfully.
As mentioned before, people tend to go out of their way, without meaning to, to make themselves fat. All you have to do is simply realize that what you are doing to causing you to gain weight. You must stop doing what you are doing and make healthier choices for yourself. It is only as hard as you make it out to be.
