It would be best if he/she will have someone to stay with her during the whole duration of the attack. What you can do to make this person feel better is to talk to him/her during this event. Speak encouraging words to help him/her go through this difficult time.

The treatment that is often recommended to people who are experiencing a panic attack is to do some proper breathing methods. The best way to help panic attacks is to do the diaphragm breathing. This method of breathing is done by breathing deeply through the nose. You have to inhale and let the air pass through the nose. Once you have done this you now have to hold the air in for about ten seconds. After that you need to release the air and you have to inhale through the nose again. This time you need to hold the air in for just three seconds. You have to repeat this process for about a minute. Continue to do this until the panic attack ceases. These are some of the things that you can do to help a person having a panic attack.
